92-year-old laughs dapper after grandpa’s death, dies of covid after being given 24 hours to live

Comedian Dapper Laughs revealed that his 92-year-old grandfather died after contracting Covid and was given only 24 hours to live.

Dapper, 37, real name Danielle O’Reilly, Revealed the sad news on Instagram and explained how he was feeling “sad” about losing his “best friend”.

Along with the announcement, Dapper shared several cute photos with his grandfather, including some with two kids with the comedian’s wife, Shelley Rae.

One of the photos was a screenshot of his mom who told Dapper, “You were one of his best friends…he loved you so much and really admired you.”

The comedian posted a lengthy message telling fans about the “tough” times his family had just endured.

“Last night I lost my grandfather to COVID, it hasn’t been an easy week for the family, after testing positive on Monday he was given 24 hours to live,” he began the heartbreaking announcement.

“I feel really sad, it’s a weird feeling that you’ll never see someone again, that was a big part of my childhood.”

Dapper told how his grandfather’s health was declining.

“Alzheimer’s is slowly taking him away from us over the past five years, but my mom and uncle are taking care of him, it’s literally destroyed our family, tested some relationships, broke some, but They took the best care of her they could and during all that we had lost our nan, the gum who held the family together, almost at the same time Shaily lost her father and nan.

The comedian then spoke candidly about his grandfather’s last few months.

Dapper said: “He was 92, great innings, and that’s no way to live, with dementia, anyone who cares about the elderly, I take my hat off you, I really do.

“I’ve been sad and depressed for the past few days and can feel myself slipping into a negative cycle but I’m going to break it today and get off the couch, I’m going back to fight any negative vibes And going and stay positive.

“Mom, Denise and Grain, I love you all, I’m so sorry for the past few years and your loss, she’s with Grandmar now.”

He ended: “Close your loved ones this Christmas.”
