SHE has made a career out of channeling her heartache into hits, but Adele may have just created her most violent track yet.
The previously unknown song But I Want To has appeared on the net, and in it it allows you to break your lover.
The demo is believed to have been created during the sessions for her fourth album, 30, which came out last year, but is upbeat and suggests she had a completely different sound in mind for the record.
On the track, she sings: “I didn’t really want to be your mistress, I was just bored, and you were the first person I laid eyes on. Maybe I was too young to play with fire. Like a loaded gun, you kept me on your wish.
“Had to learn to run, had to learn to walk away.”
She continues in the chorus, “I hate that I love you, the worst thing is that I never wanted to. It kills me that I can’t be near you, but I want to.
“I’ll lose my heart, go crazy in your eyes.”
It is unknown who the track is about or if it is based on her experiences.
In 2019, she separated from her husband Simon Konecki.
Prior to that, she had another longtime boyfriend, about whom her second album 21, featuring chart-topper Someone Like You, was written.
She is now dating sports agent Rich Paul, who was spotted in the audience at the first of her two shows at British Summertime Hyde Park in London on Friday.
Yesterday, Adele wrote on Instagram: “My heart is absolutely full! I will never forget these concerts with you, slap bang in central London, outdoors, during the Pride weekend! Thank you very much for having me.
It’s been five years since Adele last gave a concert.
Fingers crossed that next time she won’t leave it so long.
Pope from Rolling Stone
MICK JAGGER left him in the family for his second British Summer Time headlining gig in Hyde Park.
The Rolling Stones wowed 65,000 fans as some of Meek’s eight kids watched.
Keeping a low profile, model Georgia May, 30, and Lucas, 22, snuck into the VIP section, while his youngest son, five-year-old Devereaux, decided to make the bigger impression.
The guy followed in his father’s footsteps by unleashing his inner artist in a black Spider-Man suit.
Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife Jo was also at the concert.
Mick joked that he wasn’t impressed with Adele’s choice of a classic black dress during her Friday and Saturday shows.
He told the crowd: “Yesterday I was here to see Adele. She’s an amazing singer, but I’ve worn more sparkly dresses.”
Mick paid tribute to the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts, who died last August.
He added, “We really, really miss him, which is why we dedicate this show to him.”
Elton: The Hornets saved me
Elton John barely held back tears on stage at his beloved football club Watford, telling fans that the club “saved his life”.
On the first of two nights at Vicarage Road, Elton, the club’s honorary life president, admitted that he couldn’t wait to complete his gigantic farewell tour so he could spend more time supporting the Hornets.
Singer Tiny Dancer said, “I first came here when I was six years old.
“You have no idea how much this club has invested in my soul. I love him so much. This is a huge part of my life. This club saved my life. I can’t wait for the tour to end next year so I can spend more time here and watch the game.”
The last dates of his UK tour were due to be in Watford but Covid cancellation means he will return to the UK in April.
Karen to avenge Euro loss
DANCE Music Center Karen Harding says she will compete in Eurovision after missing out on a place in the contest as a teenager.
In 2010 she took part in the national selection but lost to Josh Dubovy who finished last with only 10 points in Oslo, Norway.
In an exclusive chat, Karen told me about her excitement for Sam Ryder’s second-place win in May with Space Man.
She said: “I was buzzing about this year because Sam Ryder smashed it. The song was incredible. It was so nice to watch all this. I am a very big Eurovision fan.
“In my experience, I was 16, I was new to all this, naive as hell, and it was great.
“I would consider doing it again if the song was right and felt right. Sam started to pave the way for Eurovision greatness, so you never know for sure.”
The Say Something singer returned on Friday with their latest single, Other Side Of Love, which marks the beginning of a new chapter.
Karen explained, “This is the first song from the album and that’s why I’m nervous about it. The work seems to be taking a long time, but now the songs are really coming together.
“It’s like, ‘Mom, I did it,’ when there’s a whole array of works for fans to listen to.”
Paolo became number one
PAOLO NUTINI’s first album in eight years is certified #1 this week.
Scottish star Last Night In The Bittersweet outsells its closest competitors by four to one.
This means that his fourth collection will be his third #1 album when the chart is released on Friday.
It beat out American rock band Shinedown in second place with their seventh studio album Planet Zero, while UB40 are on their way to number six with Unprecedented.
Rita’s bride-to-be’s hot property
SHE must have spent a fair amount of money on this Paris Fashion Week dress, but Rita Ora is definitely not short on a pound or two.
The pop star wore this black dress yesterday, with a thigh-high slit revealing her ‘in love and war all is fair’ tattoo as new financial documents showed her property portfolio is now worth £12.4m.
Documents for her company Rora Properties Ltd show her investment in bricks and mortar has tripled since 2020.
Her Grade II listed haunted house in elegant Primrose Hill, North London, has grown £3 million to a whopping £10 million since she bought a six-bedroom gaff in January 2021.
The Let Me Love You singer, who is set to tie the knot with director Taika Waititi, received permission last year to redevelop the mansion.
However, it doesn’t look like she’s going to be doing this for profit anytime soon, as I covered yesterday how she’s moving back to the UK with Taika.
They were spotted carrying boxes into the house after living between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles with their New Zealand fiancé for the past 18 months.
In addition to managing her property, Rita plans to marry Oscar winner Taika in a low-profile ceremony.
But don’t worry about them missing the party, there will be a stellar celebration later in the summer.
With all this dosh, I’m sure you won’t spare your money.
Jen and Ben are happy again
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck looked smitten as they went hunting for a bargain at the flea market.
The On The Floor singer wore a printed maxi skirt and held hands with her actor fiancé at the Melrose Trading Post mall in Los Angeles on Sunday.
J-Lo and Ben rekindled their romance in May 2021, 19 years after breaking off their first engagement.
