This will Full house reunion on the set of the original Great American Family Christmas movie Candice Cameron Bure Presents: Christmas in Candy Reed Lane. Full House / Fuller House alumnus Andrea Barber was cast in the lead role opposite Dan Payne (Virgin River) in a film directed by her colleague Full House / Fuller House Bure alum. Its premiere on the network is scheduled for this holiday.
Developed under her Candy Rock Entertainment venture, Christmas at Candy Cane Lane this is Bure’s second Christmas project with Great American Media for the 2022 season and the first under the banner of Candace Cameron Bure Presents. The new film will be part of The Great American Christmas, the network’s holiday programming franchise, which returns on October 21st.
“I am very pleased to introduce you to the incredibly talented and funny Andrea Barber. A 30-year-old best friend both on and off camera allowed me to find the perfect project to introduce the Christmas genre audience to her brilliant comedy skills, her touching sincerity and vulnerability, which are rare today. Just like me, the audience will fall in love with Andrea’s warmth and responsiveness and laugh with her all the way along the Candy Cane Trail,” said Candice Cameron Bure.
The film, based on the novel by Sheila Roberts, stars Barber as Ivy Donaldson, who is at a turning point in her life. Separated from her husband Rob (Pain) and putting on a brave face for her daughter, Ivy also struggles with the long shadow cast by her late mother Muriel, Frostfall’s favorite; head of Candy Cane Lane Lights Extravaganza, owner of The Christmas Haus, and former TV personality known as “Christmas Connoisseur”. Shoes seem too big to fill. As obstacles come to a head for Ivy, a series of comical and mysterious events brings the Ice Falls neighbors, including Ivy’s entire family, together in a masterful perfection that only the “Christmas Connoisseur” herself could appreciate.
Christy Will is directing the film from an original screenplay by Tina Booth.
