Anya Taylor-Joy shares an emotional post after returning to Argentina

Anya Taylor-Joy shared on Instagram an emotional snapshot dedicated to her return to her beloved Argentina.

Born in Miami, Florida, the King’s Gambit star lived in Argentina until she was six years old before her family moved to London. In a recent post in Spanish, the actress spoke about her reaction after returning to Buenos Aires for the first time in three years.

Taylor-Joy posted a photo of herself with her face covered up to her chin, when she was clearly crying. In the background is a garden or a park, the location of which she did not exactly name.


“These photos were taken five minutes after I flew to Buenos Aires airport for the first time in three years,” the actress wrote on January 3.

“I was so emotional I couldn’t stop crying,” she added.

She continued, “We hope this year we will reunite with the people and places we love the most.”

Taylor-Joy then wished her followers a Happy New Year. In the comments section, the actress received support from her Argentine fans.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays Olga in the next film by Robert Eggers “The Northman”

Taylor-Joy, whose breakout role was Thomasin in the horror film VVitch, recently shared a trailer for her next film.

In Northern Man, the actress will once again team up with VVitch director Robert Eggers, also known for starring in The Lighthouse.

The star-studded cast of Eggers’ upcoming epic historical drama will also include Nicole Kidman, Bjork, Alexander Skarsgard, Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke.

According to the official synopsis, The Northman is “an epic revenge thriller that explores how far a Viking prince will go to get justice for his murdered father.”

Taylor-Joy plays the role of Olga, but little is known about her character. Judging by the trailer, Olga seems to be close to Skarsgard’s hero Amlet and is actively involved in his vengeful quest.

“I can’t even EXPLAIN how glad I am to share this with you all. A real homecoming with so many of my beloved people and artists, ”the star shared on her Instagram when the trailer was first released in December.

The actress is also set to appear in a culinary dark comedy called Menu, opposite Nicholas Hoult and Rafe Fiennes.

The Northman is slated for release on April 22, 2022.
