Some splits in the bachelor nation hit harder than others.
After months of speculation, Becca Kufrin confirmed in September 2020 that she and Garret Yrigoyen ended their engagement.
“I don’t think this will come as a shock to anyone, but Garrett and I have decided to end our engagement,” The Bachelorette of season 14 said on her Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “After long negotiations, we came to this decision. It wasn’t something we came up with overnight,” she continued. “It wasn’t based solely on one Instagram post or anyone else’s opinions or comments. It’s much more. There are many layers in any relationship, and it’s not for me to divulge the details. This does not concern anyone, except for what I am telling you now.
The couple got engaged in August 2018 at the show’s finale. Hen-party. Fans knew there were problems in paradise after Kufrin recorded an emotional episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” about Yrigoyen’s support for the police amid the Black Lives Matter movement in June 2020 with a co-host. Rachel Lindsey.
“The fact that we have come to this decision now does not change all those years and countless memories that we have created together,” Kufrin said. “I will always look back on this time in my life with immense gratitude and love.”
However, Kufrin eventually secured her a long and happy life with Bachelor in Paradise partner Thomas Jacobs. She announced their engagement via Instagram in May 2022, after seven months of dating. Bachelor The Season 22 winner revealed that she was the one who proposed to Jacobs, captioning a series of engagement photos: “At the final twist of the plot… HE SAID YES!”
Earlier in 2020 Colton Underwood as well as Cassie Randolph called it a layoff. The duo met and fell in love while filming season 23 of the series. Bachelor, which aired in 2019.
The couple vowed to remain friends in their breakup statements.
“Colton and I broke up, but decided to remain part of each other. [sic] life. With everything we’ve been through, we have a special bond that will always be,” Randolph tweeted on May 29.
Underwood added: “Sometimes people are just meant to be friends, and that’s okay. We’ve both grown a lot and been through a lot together – so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us.”
The exes later unfollowed each other on social media after Randolph accused Underwood of trying to monetize their split. He came out as gay in 2021.
The show had many splits that same year, with Claire Crowley as well as Dale Moss, Taishia Adams as well as Zack Clark, Kathy Thurston as well as Blake Moines everyone ends their respective engagements.
