EXCLUSIVE: Bella Heathcote (Parts of Her) and Asif Ali (Don’t worry dear) will star in a survival drama Roofmarking the directorial debut of Salvatore Sciortino, with production wrapping up in Los Angeles.

The film tells the story of two colleagues who are accidentally trapped on top of a skyscraper during the hottest holiday weekend in years. Without water and unable to communicate with the outside world, they try increasingly dangerous means to escape as their health rapidly deteriorates due to the heat. At the same time, a friendship suddenly blossoms as they mutually realize how much they have ruined their lives.

Josh Tate has written and is producing with Austin Sepúlveda, a recent employee of the Sundance production lab. The film was supported by a grant from Kurt Willis and the Visit Knoxville Film Office, with some filming taking place in Knoxville.
