The Golden Girls star passed away at the age of 99 and was only a few weeks away from her landmark 100th birthday.
Sources said TMZ that Betty passed away at her home on New Years Eve morning.

Ryan, who starred with Betty in the 2009 rom-com The Proposal and has been good friends with her ever since, tweeted an emotional note.
The Deadpool actor wrote, “The world looks different now. She handled expectations well.

Her other partner in The Proposal, Sandra Bullock, also contemplated the crushing loss.
