Celebrity Apprentice 2022: Lord Sugar storms off set amid Darren McMullen’s ‘tirade of insults’

Explosive scenes erupted in The Celebrity Apprentice when Darren McMullen blew up on Lord Sugar, angrily telling him, “I don’t have to be here.”

Incendiary scenes played out on Celebrity Apprentice when one of this year’s contestants ran into Lord Alan Sugar, setting off a dramatic storm.

During a showdown in the boardroom on Monday night, Darren McMullen fired up, arguing why he should be advancing towards the grand finale of the show.

“I was in the hospital and all I could think was, ‘No, I don’t want to let this charity down,'” the actor and television host said, referring to his recent absence shown at the beginning of the episode. It was later revealed that doctors believe he may have had a minor heart attack.

However, Lord Sugar was not entirely sympathetic.

“I don’t want to hear about your hospital anymore,” he told McMullen.

“What about the fact that my damn dog is dying and I’m here doing a doggy task for you?” he replied angrily, reminding Lord Sugar of his dog’s recent cancer diagnosis.

“It’s like I’m here, I’m committed to this show… You think I don’t have a job, Sugar? I have so much work to do, if you want to fire me, get rid of me – I don’t need to be here. I’m here for my charity… Man, I gave everything, my heart and soul, to be here.”

Lord Sugar snapped, “Don’t call me dude,” before running out of the meeting room, calling the explosion “ridiculous.”

Outside, he asked the producers, “Do you think Darren’s tirade against me is personally acceptable?”

After eventually being persuaded to return to the room, McMullen was criticized by Lord Sugar for his “fiery temper”.

“I think you are somewhat disrespectful to me and I don’t like it,” he told him.

However, despite a fiery encounter, he was saved from being cut down and Amy Shark and Ronnie Caceres were given orders to go instead.

McMullen and ex-NRL star Benji Marshall will now face off in the final.

This isn’t the first time McMullen has been involved in a fight. Celebrity Apprentice.

Earlier this season, he lost to model Jarrod Scott after their group challenge went awry.

The challenge was to create and run a food delivery service, and from the very beginning there were divisions in the men’s team.

When Scott called to stop taking orders and close the kitchen early, there was a Gordon Ramsay-style kitchen explosion.

“What happened? It was a hell of a fight,” said an indifferent McMullen, entering the kitchen after the orders had been delivered.

Scott then asked the actor to explain what he meant.

“Buddy, listen, everything is late, everything is frozen. You were talking about the big game. You’re like, “I fucking have it, I’ve got hospitality experience, you were crap last week, Darren,” and I’m like, “Okay, come on, buddy,” and I backed you up,” McMullen said.

“Some of our team will probably go home now.”

Scott, keeping calm, replied, “If that’s the case, then it’s all right, but…”

“No, it’s not really all right,” McMullen snapped. “Why is it okay? I don’t want any of these guys to leave.”

“If you’ll let me explain, if you’ll listen to the project manager and let me explain some things…” Scott continued.

“Dude, you were [doing] nothing but talking and telling other people to shut up,” McMullen said.
