AT recent social media post Shared on Instagram, Love, 57, backed out of a public show of support for Depp that made headlines earlier this week.
“I was engaged in the expression of thoughts on the Internet. The platform accidentally posted a story that I didn’t want to publish (I’m sure it was unintentional), in which I use the Snark as a weapon (what else do we do with the Snark?)
“Was it my own (certainly massive, character defect, ego?) Was it a sincere expression of support for someone whose presence was miraculously present in our lives?
“Is this SOMETHING MY F***ING BUSINESS? Not.”
Love added, “What about the times I was publicly slandered? Did my real friends do so much to help me during these public ritual systemic humiliations?”
Love went on to write, “Of course I don’t always do the right thing,” before adding, “I want to show neutral support to a friend. I don’t want to intimidate. I’ve been bullied enough. I didn’t mean to express my bias/inner misogyny [sic]”.
“I don’t want to have anything to do with exacerbating online bullying for someone who is being bullied in a way that no one has ever been online. Never,” the musician continued later.
“In my ‘when we were wrong, we immediately admitted it’ recovery program, I was wrong,” Kurt Cobain’s widow added about the face.
“The only important takeaway from what was published is that I said that we all need to stop ‘entertaining ourselves with gloating’. [sic](see above: “Enjoy someone else’s fall”) and show sincere empathy for both parties,” concluded Love. “If I have hurt someone, please accept my reparations. Back to my offline life.”
What did Courtney say about Johnny Depp?
Love’s initial remarks regarding the Depp and Heard trial were heard in a series of videos in which Love is reported to have said, “I really don’t want to make judgments in public. I just want to tell you that Johnny did CPR on me in 1995. when I overdosed near the Snake Room.”
The Viper Room was once co-owned by Depp’s co-owner and is known for hosting some of the most influential artists in the business. The West Hollywood establishment recently announced it was closing its doors after over 35 years.
“Johnny when I was on crack and [daughter] Francis [Bean Cobain] had to go through it with all these social workers, wrote her a four-page letter, which she never showed me, on the day of her 13th birthday, ”continued Love.
She reportedly insisted that Depp often “sent limousines” to Cobain’s school, “where all the social workers crawled – again, without being asked – for her and all her friends to go both ways.” Pirates [of the Caribbean movies]”.
“He did it a bunch of times. He gave her his place [at the premieres] with her name on it,” Love explained.
“I’ve never seen any of those Pirates movies, but [Frances] loved them. You know, she told me when she was 13, “Mom, he saved my life.” And she did it again.”
Love is said to have mentioned in her videos that she knows what it means to be “the most hated woman in America” and “the world” and empathizes with the 36-year-old Hurd for what the actress is going through.
Hurd is leading a high-profile lawsuit filed over Depp’s defamation allegations, which were filed after she wrote an article for Washington Post in 2018, alleging that she was the victim of domestic and emotional abuse.
Although Heard did not name Depp as her abuser, she detailed the accusations stemming from the time period when she was married to Edward Scissorhands actor.
“But if you’re using the movement for your own personal gain and inhabiting queer feminist intersectional spaces and abusing this moment, then I hope justice will be done, whatever that may be,” Love reportedly said. “And I think we should have less gloating and more empathy for all stakeholders.”
Depp and Heard first met in 2009 but didn’t get together romantically until they split from their partners in 2012. They got engaged in 2014 and married in 2015 before separating the following year after just 15 months of marriage.
