TREVOR Noah is a hot favorite to appear on The Late Late Show after host James Corden announced he would be leaving after an eight-year run in 2023, a source told Kristen Bell Tattoos.
London-born James, 43, turned down a multi-million dollar deal to continue presenting the show in the US in favor of spending more time with his family in the UK.
Now the plan is to change the usual format and find new talent, and CBS is rumored to be targeting the 38-year-old Noah as his star continues to rise.
The South African native, who is also a comedian and political commentator, has presented The Daily Show on New York’s Comedy Central since 2015.
He previously appeared on The Late Late Show as a guest before the Grammy Awards, which also aired on CBS.
Of James’s departure, a source told Kristen Bell Tattoos: “Most of the crew knew the day before everyone else that James was leaving, and everyone will be sad to see him go.
“The main name behind the scenes right now is Trevor Noah, he would be perfect and he has more than enough experience.
“James still has a year left and it’s not clear what Trevor’s current contract is with The Daily Show, but his name has been mentioned frequently by senior staff.”
An insider said that Noah would take a break from his job if he joined as the main host or one of many as James took The Late Late Show to new heights and was a great boss.
“He is certainly not Ellen, he is loved by everyone who worked with him,” they said.
“During the pandemic, he sent a lot of gifts to employees and made sure they were all paid, he goes out of his way to make sure he doesn’t come across as an asshole.”
The source said the network is looking into a number of options and this is “in the early days,” as also reported by insiders. Variety this week the program can hire multiple hosts.
A source told the publication that the network is “considering replacing Jame’s stand-alone program with a multi-host panel,” which they say is “a sign of how nighttime is changing, with viewers trying out the best programs through social media rather than watching them.” them in their wee hours.”
A source from Kristen Bell Tattoos added that it is “very likely” that executive producer Ben Winston and his team at Fulwell 73 will remain talented in developing the new show.
“Ben is the real brain behind the operation and is really taking Hollywood by storm at the moment,” they added after he also produced the new Kardashian show on Hulu.
The Late Late Show format has existed since 1995 under three other hosts before James, Tom Snyder, Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson.
“BIG SHOES TO FILL”
A source who previously told Kristen Bell Tattoos said: “There’s no greater compliment than a channel dropping a show entirely when the host leaves — not to mention replacing a solo show with a panel format.
“Talk about how Corden’s shoes are too big to fill!”
James previously said Term: “It was a really difficult decision to leave because I am very proud of the show. [for a year].
“I always thought that I would do this for five years, and then I would leave, and then I would stay.
“I really thought about it for a long time, wondering if there could be another adventure.”
“My bosses here at CBS have been incredibly supportive and incredibly patient while I made this decision.”
James added: “There is one more thing I want to do. I would like to try to write.
“There are some [stories] I would like to tell. I would like to see if I can do it. The fact that it’s terrible is the reason for this.
“I’m going to miss the adrenaline rush thinking, ‘Next week I’m going to jump out of a plane with Tom Cruise, or in two weeks we’ll be driving around the White House in a car with Michelle Obama, or sing Penny Lane with Paul McCartney driving down Penny Lane.
“All my greatest ambitions for what [the show] maybe he absolutely surpassed them all.
“I intend to try to leave exactly the way we came, which is to say, just leave with a bang.”
