Kodak Black is one of the most famous artists in the hip-hop genre. With over 20 million streams on Spotify alone, it shouldn’t be taken lightly. But even with all its success, Kodak cannot avoid getting into trouble. Since 2015, the South Florida rapper has been arrested more than eight times on charges ranging from mere possession of marijuana to sexual assault. After battling many charges, he just got out of jail and will hopefully change his old habits, but his criminal history is extensive. The artist’s career seemed to take off until his legal troubles changed everything.

When he was only 22 years old, he achieved such success in the industry that he worked with famous artists. As proof, Kodak has several songs that have reached the top of the Billboard charts, including a featured song: Zeze with Travis Scott and Offset, who reached 2nd place. Unfortunately, due to his criminal history, he has lost the respect of his fans.

The artist spent most of his life in prison. He has a long criminal history that began at a very young age and seemed like he always had a second chance, but was eventually taken away from him. His legal troubles began in 2015 when he was arrested for robbery, assault, kidnapping, driving with a suspended license and possession of weed… This left him locked up for several months, and also put a hiatus in his career, which was just beginning to gain momentum at the time.

Kodak Black’s first major arrest occurred when his hit song skrt began to gain momentum all over the world. On October 14, 2015, Kodak was arrested by the police for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. But it doesn’t stop there. Once the police came across Kodak’s real name (Dewson Octave or Bill Kahan Capri) through the system, they realized the rapper had open warrants for robbery, battery, and kidnapping.



From there, the hip-hop artist was taken into custody and prosecuted on five counts. The rapper was held without bail for several days, but in the end he was given a set amount of bail, and he was released a few minutes later.

The second arrest took place just over two months later, on December 25, 2015.… On that Christmas day, Kodak was driving around the neighborhood when he was stopped by the St. Lucie police. During the stop, police found marijuana and drug supplies on the artist and charged him with possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and drug supplies. The rapper was released on bail again shortly after he was arrested.


The following incident was not necessarily an arrest at the time, but resulted in an arrest later that year, and this is an incident that occurred at the Comfort Suites in South Carolina. The rapper was stopped by the police, but he tried to evade the police instead of cooperating. After a little game of cat and mouse, Kodak was finally detained by the authorities when they found marijuana and a loaded .40 Glock 23 pistol, which he tried to dump into a nearby trash can.

When all was said and done, the artist was charged on three counts: possession of a gun by a convicted criminal, possession of marijuana, and escape from the police. At some point, he made everyone believe that he would get out of trouble and change his lifestyle. However, this did not last long. With Kodak’s criminal record, fans don’t think there is more to be hoped for.
