ELLE Darby’s social media following has continued to plummet after many of her racist and greasy ex-tweets have surfaced.
The YouTube star has lost over 100,000 fans after apologizing for the comments and announcing she was taking a social media break.
It seems that once the mother’s loyal fans, one child was enough, as thousands of them unfollowed her after old tweets were discovered.
El left followers horrified by her nefarious messages that insulted various ethnic groups, including calling “foreigners” “dumb” who “grumble”.
Spiteful words written a decade ago have surfaced again during the Christmas season and have fans unfollowing her in droves.
In just a few days, the star, who relies on Instagram followers to get paid posts, dropped from 780,000 to 720,000.
Now Elle’s follower count has dropped even further as she has 686,000 followers left – with a total loss of almost 100,000.
Her YouTube channel also continues to plummet following tweets, with 26,000 fans unfollowing her and her 577,000 followers.
The star also deleted her Twitter account where the original tweets were posted, as she was haunted by insults in the comments.
In one tweet from 2011, an influential man wrote, “I hope this Polish bastard driving my bus almost kicked me out this morning because I didn’t have a badge accident.”
Another from the same year read: “Why are foreigners following me? I’m not talking about your grumbling, dumbass. ”
In a new YouTube video released last week, she reiterated how “disgusting” she found her “terrible tweets” and said she was going to take a hiatus.
She said: “The tweets I made in 2009 were so disgusting and so far from who I am today, they were racist, fat-phobic, homophobic – I am ashamed, I hate myself.
“There is not a single person on the planet who hates me more than I do now. The pain that I have caused many of you is eating me up.
“To know that I was someone you thought was a great friend, and that this image of me is now spoiled. I don’t even recognize myself to be [that person]…
“I hope you understand that this is not the person I am today. I know these disgusting words and terrible tweets will always be associated with my name. Since I wrote these tweets, I have received the best education in the last ten years. ”
Following her apology video, the two big brands she works with turned down the disgraced YouTuber due to her racist tweets.
Fashion retailer In The Style and Beauty Works were the first to confirm that they will no longer partner with the 26-year-old.
A spokesperson for In The Style said, “We can confirm that Elle no longer has a contract with the brand. The discovered tweets are completely contrary to the values and spirit of the In The Style brand. ”
Beauty Works said, “We recently found posts on the Internet by a brand representative under a Beauty Works contract. We do not accept any form of racism or discrimination and therefore decided to end our relationship. “
