Now we all know Bindi Irwin as the daughter of the late Steve Irwin…
And fans of the Irwin family around the world over the past decade have rejoiced that Bindi has followed in her father’s footsteps, working tirelessly at the family’s Australian Zoo alongside her mother Terry and brother Robert.
Bindi is married to Chandler Powell, whom she met in 2013.
The couple met when Chandler, now 25, was visiting a zoo in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition from the US.
They have been together for over 8 years and surprisingly the American born Chandler shows the same passion for animals as the Irwins and now he works with Bindi and her family at the Australian Zoo.
Well, 2 years ago, the couple decided to take their commitment to each other one step further.
On March 25, 2020, Bindi and Chandler finally said yes and became husband and wife.
The couple also looked great.
“We had a little ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now. We planned this beautiful day for almost a year, and everything had to be changed, since there were no guests at our wedding. It was a very difficult decision, but it is important that everyone is safe. We would love to have all our friends and family there with us, however it’s great that we can share photos and videos,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.
They married in a secluded location where Steve regularly filmed, with Bindi revealing how she honored her late father on her special day…
Speaking with People, Bindi said, “The place where we got married was such a special place for dad. It’s a beautiful little place where he’s been filming for many years. It was really beautiful and just had to be. We had Dad’s picture blown up on the easel with his dog Sui, so Mom and Robert stood right next to Dad as we exchanged vows. We had a candle lighting ceremony for him and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a beautiful moment of peace and happiness.”
And as another special touch, she even kept her last name as a legacy to her father.
Speaking with ET, Bindi said, “I left Bindi Irwin. I think that for me personally, after dad [Steve Irwin] passed away, it was very important for me to feel close to him, and his name means so much to me.
And only 5 months from the wedding …
The couple came forward with more another exciting announcement.
Bindi shared an adorable photo on Instagram of her and Chandler holding a petite khaki shirt…

Grace is named after my great-grandmother and Chandler relatives who lived in the 1700s. Her middle name, Warrior Irwin, is a tribute to my father and his legacy as the most incredible warrior in the wild. Her last name is Powell and she already has the same kind soul as her dad. There are no words to describe the endless love in our hearts for our sweet little girl. She picked the perfect day for her birthday and we feel incredibly blessed.”
Robert then took to Instagram to express his joy at being an uncle…
“Let Uncle’s adventures begin! I love you so much, Grace. This baby has chosen two of the best parents in the whole world. The most incredible, caring and strong Mom … and the funniest, coolest and kindest dad. I love you 3 so much – I can’t wait for this exciting journey!” He wrote.
