EX CBEEBIES host Sarah-Jane Honeywell has shattered the overwhelming expectation that she would act “like a saint” during her primetime TV camera.
The 47-year-old TV presenter, who was fired from children’s television after posing topless for the PETA campaign, now described how she felt like she had “lost” her identity and “sense of purpose.”
Back in November 2011, she took part in the PETA promo campaign, during which she posed braless on a huge plate of food in Trafalgar Square in London.
The resulting images caused a stir, and when new footage of her in a meager vest and pouring Diet Coke on her chest appeared in the press, she found herself fired.
Sarah-Jane, who has appeared on Tikkabilla, ZingZillas and Mighty Mites, has spoken openly about her suicidal feelings and soaring £ 100,000 in debt since she was kicked off-screen 10 years ago.
Now, as the host of BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Sarah-Jane has opened up about her feelings.
She said, “PETA asked me if I could make a picture for them because I am vegan.
“I’m not quite that political. I was sure I would do it to help. “
However, after reactions to the cheeky images proved that the campaign was indeed “not in order,” she added that “no one called.”
She said, “I really felt lost, I felt like I had lost my identity.
“All my sense of purpose, personality, everything in me seemed to be slipping away.”
However, Sarah-Jane previously shared how she had no regrets about lying nude next to some campaign props when she took to Instagram to write, “It’s been 10 years since the photo was taken. , which completely changed the way I view my life. … “
There is so much speculation about how “this photo” got me fired from CBeebies, but the truth is, there was already a producer who hated me and wanted to get rid of me.
“This photo just lit a match for the fire that was already being made for me.
“I am so grateful and now I know that even when life doesn’t go the way you want it, things can turn out better than you wanted.
“Without this fire, I would never have met my husband @aydencallaghan, I would never have my two children, my boys, Phoenix and Indiana Fox, who I live for, and … I would never know real happiness.”
She continued: “I will always be impulsive (I either do or do nothing, there is no intermediate position for me).”
Sarah Jane was not paid for the photo shoot, and she did it “for fun.”
She previously told KristenBellTattoos.com: “The BBC was asked to comment and they just said I no longer work for them.
“That’s how I found out. There were never any phone calls or conversations with my bosses – despite the fact that I worked there for 10 years. “
Sarah Jane and Ayden’s first son, Phoenix, now six years old, was born in August 2015 and the couple got married in September 2016.
In January 2018, they welcomed the arrival of their second son, Indiana, who is now four years old.
The family lives in Lincoln, where Sarah-Jane runs the Curious Theater School.
