Former NBA player Lazar Hayward was arrested last week in Hawaii for allegedly using fake COVID test results to avoid quarantine.
Hayward was traveling with a man when he was arrested at Kwai’s Lehu Airport when police were informed that the couple had uploaded the results of a fake negative COVID test to the state’s Safe Travels portal. Hawaii needs 10 days of passenger quarantine. Because they did not want to quarantine, they uploaded fake results.
Passengers without immunizations must be taken within 72 hours of arrival, without a negative test or proof of vaccination.
According to the station report, Hayward was accused of lying frivolously.
Hayward spent three seasons at the NBA from 2010 to 2013. He was selected in the 2010 draft with a score of 30, which was taken out of the market by the Washington Wizards. It was immediately traded in Minnesota Timber Wells. Hayward averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 72 games during his NBA career.
