HBO Max to build ‘The Bridge’ in Hungary
The HBO Max Hungarian division will launch a local version of the Banijay survival format. Bridge. The format challenges contestants to build a 250m bridge to the island for a chance to win a big cash prize, and this latest deal marks the sixth international adaptation. Presented by Csaba Magyaroshi, Bridge Hungary produced locally by Free Monkeys Production based on the original Spanish format. Production took place on Lake Belis in Romania, close to the Hungarian border. Blackport, a quirky Icelandic drama set in a small fishing village in the 1980s, is heading to the US and Canada via streamer Topic. Distributor About Premium Content also sold the show to SBS in Australia, AMC Networks International in Southern Europe in Spain and Portugal, RTS in Switzerland, and TG4 in Ireland after pre-sales in several Scandinavian territories following its launch on MipTV. Sons of Rigor Films and ScreeningRoom have announced four recipients of Ukrainian film grants. WildBrain will launch a new series of Teletubbies on YouTube
Following Netflix’s plan to bring back the Teletubbies, British child characters will appear in a new YouTube show. Teletubbies Go! is an animated CG series for preschoolers created by digital studio WildBrain Spark. It will launch on the official Teletubbies YouTube channel at the end of October, with new episodes arriving weekly. TV series Introduce a new generation of kids to Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po. Several new Sunny Babies, reflecting the diversity of the Teletubby audience, and new music will be featured in each episode. WildBrain also announced a third season Strawberry Cookies: Berry in the City, which will be produced at the Canadian company’s studio in Vancouver. The show’s second season launches on Netflix on September 21 with several new customers including Kids Central in the US and Sandbox Kids (UK, Ireland, US, Canada, France and Ukraine).
