The company announced today that Warner Media is launching a new program aimed at empowering aspiring creators of adult animation programming.
Of HBO Max. X. Access to Warner Media. The Animated Shorts program will provide artists from seven historically under-represented communities with the necessary guidance, training and tools to create original, one- to five-minute animated shorts for an adult audience. They will be guided throughout the process by an experienced producer, and will have the opportunity to present their completed projects to a global audience through HBO Max.
During the six- to nine-month program starting in January, participants will open up career avenues for those involved in the animation production business as well as the medium, industry experts will conduct virtual master classes on topics including scriptwriting, Storyboard and animated, and character and location design.
The inaugural shorts program focuses on the theme of “Only You”, which focuses on finding artists who push the boundaries with HBO Max’s unique voices.
“Many of the best animators in the world started with an animated short,” said Aaron Davidson, director of comedy and animation. “We are proud to offer a place where creators who have not yet been discovered can nurture their ideas and share them with the world while the industry learns from the best storytellers and their Worked together. “

Submission to the program (free of charge) will be open to those 18 years of age or older with the right to work in the United States or Canada until October 5 or 24.
