Hillary speak to People And Entertainment Weekly About her cancer, which was diagnosed in 2012 after a routine mammogram.
After the first surgery, it was determined to be a pre-cancerous tumor. However, it then turned into something else. Two years later, after another mammogram, it was discovered she had invasive breast cancer, which had spread to the surrounding breast tissue; And had another lumpectomy.
“I was signed on by a medical oncologist saying, ‘You’re done. You’re fine. You go,'” Hillary Shared, it didn’t end there before adding.
Hillary said she was surprised to learn that she should have received radiation during treatment, but the medical oncologist incorrectly stated that it was not necessary.
“I was scared, because I knew I had a very small window,” she says. “I felt absolutely furious that someone could be so blatantly wrong. I could have died.”
After undergoing radiation in 2015, months later, Hillary Had to undergo a third lumpectomy, and the tumor was considered pre-cancerous.
Today, she has now recovered from her cancer.
Hillary In the hope that her own cancer battle and story will help and encourage others to get tested.
“The fear of breast cancer keeps a lot of women from getting tested. But as terrifying as it is, you face it,” she shared. “Thinking whether you should keep it a secret or just power through doesn’t help And it doesn’t go well. If I can change it for one person, that’s enough.”
