How many followers has El Darby lost on social media?

El is a popular British YouTube blogger and content creator with hundreds of thousands of social media followers.

The influencer, who had over 600,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel by the end of 2021, was forced to apologize after old racist tweets from 2011 reappeared.

She said that she was ashamed of her historical tweets and that she wanted to “take responsibility for my actions.”

Despite her apology, the star loses thousands of followers every day.

Since New Years, her YouTube channel has lost over 16,000 subscribers, bringing the number down to 595,000.

Before the old tweets were revealed, her Instagram had over 785,000 followers.

Fans quickly started to unsubscribe, and her account dropped by 50,000 to the current 735,000.

The star also closed her Twitter account where the original tweets were posted.

What did El Darby say?

One’s mom drew backlash for insulting various ethnic groups, including calling “foreigners” “dumb” who “grumble”.

In a 2011 tweet that came up, an influential man wrote, “I hope this Polish t *** was riding my bus this morning and nearly knocked me off my feet because I didn’t crash.”

Another from the same year read: “Why are foreigners persecuting me? I don’t speak your way, you stupid ones. ”

And in the third, a British influential man wrote: “I just hate Poles and Indians.”

Elle was also caught saying, “I really miss my laptop. Wish this stupid charger from HK (Hong Kong) to hurry up. Come on, damn it, you’re upsetting me. “

Another said, “This bus is sweaty and stinks of Indians.”

In other tweets, the influencer posted greasy and offensive comments, including using the word “n” and hinting at animal cruelty.

Spiteful words written a decade ago have surfaced during the Christmas season and sparked an outcry on the Internet.

Fans have taken to social media in disgust and pointed out that her fiancé’s old accounts, Connor Swift, contain similar hateful and racist words.

The couple have since apologized for the tweets that they said were “pissed off.”

Will Elle Darby be canceled?

Elle and her fiancé apologized to their fans on YouTube and Instagram.

On Instagram, the couple wrote, “Christmas and New Years are traditionally a time for reflection, and so we decided to take the time to check out both of our stories on social media.

“We are ashamed to admit that we did not like what we found.

“We were both shocked, surprised and devastated by some of the language used in our very old tweets, in particular over a decade ago.

“We feel that everyone is responsible for our mistakes and we try to take responsibility for our actions, especially those that do not portray us in our best light.”

“We are very angry with ourselves and ashamed that our behavior has hurt some of you who have supported our family for so long.

“We can only wish your forgiveness.”

In a new YouTube video released today, she reiterated how “disgusting” she finds her “terrible tweets” and said she would take a break from social media.

“The tweets I wrote in 2009 were so disgusting and so far from who I am today, they were racist, fat-phobic, homophobic – I am ashamed, I hate myself.

“There is not a single person on the planet who hates me more than I do now. The pain that I have caused many of you is eating me up.

“To know that I was who you thought was a great friend, and that image of me is now spoiled. I don’t even realize that I was [that person]…

“I hope you understand that this is not the person I am today. I know that these hideous words and terrible tweets will always be associated with my name. Since I wrote these tweets, I have received the best education in the last ten years.

Announcing her social media hiatus, she added, “I will spend a little time offline to reflect more deeply on what happened in order to process a situation that I don’t think I can ever forgive myself.”

Elle previously made headlines in 2018 after asking a Dublin hotel for free accommodation, prompting them to ban all bloggers.
