“I Drew A Line In The Sand” – KristenBellTattoos.com

James Cameron said The New York Times This weekend when their first trip to Pandora wasn’t entirely Edenic.

Specifically, the director 2009 detailed his battle with the Fox brass over two key elements. Avatar.

“The studio felt the film had to be short and there was a lot of flying around. Akran — what humans call banshee,” he said.

Cameron, of course, stuck to his guns.

“I just drew a line in the sand and said, ‘You know what? I made it.’ Titanic. This building we’re meeting in now, this new half-billion dollar complex on your lot? Titanic It’s paid for, so I’ll do it.”

That’s not to say Cameron didn’t think about the box office. He didn’t let that stop him from just making the film he wanted to make.

“We have a sense of responsibility to do the best we can and make it a money maker,” he said. “But I don’t know how any decision I make about the film translates artistically. I don’t say, ‘Hmmm, let’s plant that plant over there because we’ll make more money.’ It doesn’t work that way. When it’s good enough, you’ll know it.”

The audience agreed. Avatar It grossed $2.8 billion worldwide and is among the highest-grossing films of all time.
