Inside Laura Hamilton’s ideal life with her husband before breaking up

“A Place in the Sun” host Laura Hamilton and her husband Alex Howard enjoyed a perfect life together.

So when 39-year-old Laura announced her divorce after 13 years of marriage and nearly a decade of marriage, Channel 4 fans were undoubtedly shocked.

A source told Kristen Bell Tattoos on Sunday how the isolation and pandemic have complicated their relationship.

On it Instagram she confirmed the break with a picture citing children’s author Dr. Seuss.

It read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

The first sign that something had changed for the upbeat Laura was her announcement this year that she was packing up at her beloved home in Surrey.

Together, the couple bought and renovated a luxury home nine years ago.

A large annex was added to the house, a swimming pool and Laura tastefully furnished and decorated the mansion in neutral colors.

Luxurious interiors can often be seen in the fitness videos Laura posts to her Instagram.

But last week she announced that she was saying goodbye to property.

She wrote on Instagram: “From the beginning of the new year, we are packing our house, ready to move …”

She added: “Change can be scary, but you know what is scarier? Let fear prevent you from growing, developing and progressing. “

The couple moved a year after their wedding at a film ceremony and party in Surrey in 2012.

The couple invited Laura’s colleagues from A Place in the Sun and Dancing on Ice to the party, where she came in second in 2011.

Guests included Amanda Lamb, Michelle Heaton, Jeff Braser, Jane Torvill, and Denise Welch.

Laura said Hey! at the time: “The day was perfect in every way. Even better than I imagined. Now I feel more complete. “

Insurance broker Alex added: “The wedding was incredible and it was the most memorable day of our lives. It only strengthens our love for each other. “

Our own place

While living in Surrey, the couple had an eight-year-old son, Rocco, and a six-year-old daughter, Thalia.

The action-packed four can often be seen on adventurous and distant vacations.

Laura and Alex’s recent Instagram photos capture a family ski vacation and luxury trip to the Maldives.

The host of A Place in the Sun took a piece of her book and bought a vacation home in San Pedro, near Marbella, Spain.

She said: “This is a great base if I work in Spain and for the kids it is a home away from home. They have traveled with me since they were three weeks old, but they are now at school. I made it so that I was not there for only a week, then two weeks at home, and when they have holidays, they join me. “

In addition to their role in A Place in the Sun, in 2016 Laura and her husband set up a new venture.

Together they bought and renovated an old country pub and shop called Lord Roberts on the Green.

Laura Told Croydon Advertiser: “It was a big deal for everyone who lives in this community when the store closed.

“I have been sad to walk or drive by a store in the past four months and see that it is empty.

“My two children, Rocco and Thalia, have been born since we moved here, and Rocco remembers going there for sweets and still points out that.”

They turned the estate into a restaurant, deli and post office, but now it is assumed that the business is for sale.

During the first lockdown in 2020, they turned the restaurant into takeout and offered free coffee to NHS workers.

Before being isolated, Alex supported Laura in a secret battle for health.

After giving birth to her daughter in 2015, she discovered that she had a rare blood disorder called immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).

The first signs of the disease were bleeding gums and numerous bruises on the legs.

She said Mirror“When Thalia was about seven months old, I had to travel to Portugal to film a fitness app, but a few days before leaving, I started noticing all these bruises on my legs.

“At first I wondered if the bruising could be caused by my diet. Anyway, I’ve always been the one who bruises quite easily, but that was more than normal. “

Supported in difficult times

She was rushed to hospital last year after having an adverse reaction to her second Covid-19 shot.

Due to her condition, the doctors advised her to go to the hospital just in case.

Laura admitted that she became a victim of online trolling in the Next Door application.

She admitted that nefarious comments about her business led to panic attacks that resulted in her being hospitalized.

She said Irish news how Alex supported her during the trials.

She said, “He has been great lately, where trolling and negative comments about our family and business have made me very upset.

“I know, as a person in the eyes of the public, I can get comments, but it was addressed to them, which I didn’t like.

“We left our restaurant and gourmet store open during the lockdown for home delivery – a lifeline for many people, especially the elderly and those taking refuge, and the center of the community.”

“I was not feeling very well either, and as a result I had a panic attack.

“I’ve never had this before, and it was very scary. Alex was very calm, called an ambulance and helped me. “

In 2016, Laura and Alex reopened the village pub as a restaurant and deli.
