Inside the bizarre life of the Bogdanov brothers

The Bogdanov twins were known for their incredible cosmetic enhancements, but there was more to their life than plastic surgery.

Igor, 72, reportedly died in hospital from the Covid virus just days after Grichka’s brother died of the virus on December 28.

A source close to the family told Le Monde that neither Grichka nor Igor had been vaccinated against the virus.

The family statement, published by his agent, said: “In peace and love, surrounded by his children and family, Igor Bogdanov passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022.”

The two eccentric brothers will be remembered for their abandonment of plastic surgery – after their appearance has changed a lot over the years.

In 2017, Grichka told a French TV channel that he had never done plastic surgery, implants or Botox.

He told Télé-Loisirs, “I’m serious, we never used it.”

We reveal their quirky lives – from an alleged £ 670,000 scam to bragging about Bitcoin and much younger girlfriends.

She grew up in a castle after a scandalous romance.

The twins came from the European nobility, but their relatives were repeatedly involved in scandals.

Their mother, Maya Kolovrat Bogdanoff, was the result of an affair between Austrian grandmother Berta Kolovrat-Krakowska and African American tenor Roland Hayes in 1925.

At the time, Bertha was married to Count Jerome Count and fled to the Château de Saint-Lary in western France due to society’s avoidance of her.

There she worked as a translator for the German occupiers during World War II, but also claimed to have sheltered Jews.

Bertha raised the twins at the castle and took them to a grandfather’s concert in Paris when they were five years old.

Both Igor and Grichka followed their grandfathers into entertainment and landed roles on French television.

Rage over cunning degrees

They have performed on the sci-fi shows Temps X and Rayon X since 1979.

Both were passionate about science, both trying to get a doctorate in the nineties and early 2000s.

Grichka defended his doctoral dissertation in mathematics in 1999, and Igor later received his doctorate in theoretical physics.

It is reported that both students were given lowest possible marks walk past Burgundy University.

They were offered a job at the Megatrend University in Belgrade, Serbia.

But soon academic pursuits brought them into hot weather.

Scientists began to question the veracity of five of their articles, published in respected scientific journals, while some argued that the studies were fraudulent.

The official report of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) says: “They have no scientific value.”

Marianne magazine published excerpts from the CNRS report in 2010 and the brothers sued them for £ 1.4 million.

The court ruled in their favor and they were awarded compensation in the amount of £ 53,500.

The angry twins then tried to sue CNRS for £ 1 million defamation in 2015, calling the committee a “scientific authority”, but the court ordered them to pay £ 1,600.

Second “ royal ” wife and strange bragging about bitcoin

Although little is known about Grichka’s personal life, Igor had a series of public affairs.

After giving birth to four children from his first wife, he met the historian Amelie de Bourbon-Parme, a descendant of Louis XIV and a relative of the Danish royal family.

She told Gala magazine: “I wouldn’t like someone too conventional. I need to be with the man I associate with.

“The days don’t have to follow and be the same. I would be afraid to get bored “

They got married in 2009 and had two children, but were divorced by 2018.

In 2017, sixty-year-old Igor had a brief relationship with 23-year-old biology student Julie Jardon.

In November of the same year he was arrested for breaking into Jardon’s house after they parted.

In recent years, the twins have turned to cryptocurrency, claiming that they invented bitcoin.

Grichka said in French television: “Igor and I, as mathematicians, were able to participate in the development of some [Bitcoin] source code, especially “predictive code” “.

The Masked Singer And The £ 670,000 Scam

Last year they took part in the French version of The Masked Singer, performing The Beatles’ Bamboleo Gipsy Kings and Yesterday.

The twins donned parrot costumes for a song contest.

But they faced serious legal charges in their later years – after being accused of cheating a troubled millionaire last year.

The case accused the twins of “scamming” the 53-year-old hotel owner, known only as Cyril P., who committed suicide in 2018.

The millionaire is reported to have invested € 800,000 (£ 670,000) in the revival of Temps X.
