Social media sent prayers and best wishes to Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend after the model and mom of two revealed she had a miscarriage. In an Instagram post from 2020, Teigen wept while holding her dead son in her arms and described the immeasurable feelings of pain and loss she experienced.
Despite the announcement two years ago, Teigen recently revealed that she lost baby Jack to an abortion, not a miscarriage.
Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make many difficult and heartbreaking decisions. About halfway through, it became quite clear that he would not survive, and neither would I survive without some sort of medical intervention.”
Chrissie was 20 weeks pregnant when she and John lost their baby Jack and stated that “complications” didn’t give him a chance to win in life. Without specifying the child’s condition, she added that they “were not able to stop the bleeding and give the baby the fluid he needed, despite the bags and bags for blood transfusion, it just wasn’t enough.”
According to TMZChrissie came to the realization that she chose her life over Jack’s after the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss Roe v. Wade, prompting her to reclassify her loss.
Let’s just call it this: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a child who had absolutely no chance. I told the world that we had a miscarriage, the world agreed that we had a miscarriage… and I was very upset that, in the first place, I didn’t say what it was, and I felt stupid that it took me more than a year. to actually understand that we had an abortion.”
After several tumultuous years, including several failed IVF attempts, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are expecting their third child.
