Jimmy Kimmel suppresses tears during an emotional tribute to Bob Saget

Jimmy Kimmel was overwhelmed with emotion when he spoke of the death of his friend Bob Saget in his show’s opening monologue.


Jimmy Kimmel burst into tears as he paid an emotional tribute to Bob Saget in a pre-recorded monologue Monday night, calling the late actor and comedian “the sweetest person” who “always had compliments.”

“I have so many amazingly kind and supportive texts, emails and calls from Bob.

“He always had compliments. Sometimes he wrote to me, just to say that he loved me, and I know that he did it for a lot of people … He could say something funny about everything and nothing bad about anyone. Never, ”said the Emmy-winning talk show host.


“He was so funny and I’m not talking about Full House or America’s Funniest Home Videos or stand-up comedies or movies, I mean really funny,” Kimmel continued.

“For example, when you came to a party, you saw Bob and his wife Kelly in the corner, you go straight to them and stay as long as you can,” he said.

“If there were people he didn’t like, he kept them to himself. He was – unlike me, he was a good person, ”he added.


Kimmel also said that when his son was in the hospital, Saget was “tested a lot.”

“He was very kind to everyone and had no problem telling you that he loves you and what you mean to him,” he said.

That Jimmy Kimmel Live! the host also took the time to tell Full house the star’s efforts to raise funds to fight scleroderma, a rare autoimmune disease that claimed the life of one of Saget’s sisters, Gay.


After she was diagnosed, Saget joined the board of directors of the Scleroderma Research Foundation, to which Kimmel encouraged people to donate.

The host later pulled out a copy of an email he received from Saget in which they discussed their children.

“Let’s go out someplace one night and eat some meat and some damn good drinks and talk about how lucky we are to have them,” he read in the post.

A housekeeper reportedly found Saget dead in his bed in a Florida hotel room after he missed a late check-out time.

The cleaning lady made a grim revelation when she walked into his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando around 4:00 pm Sunday – an hour after the 65-year-old was due to check out, a source said. People

The official cause of Saget’s death has yet to be established, but investigators said they found “no sign of foul play or drug use in this case.”

This was reported by sources in law enforcement agencies. TMZ that Saget may have suffered a medical emergency such as a heart attack or stroke.

According to the death investigation report, the comedian was found lying on his back in bed, with his left hand on his chest and his right hand on the bed.

Sources pointed to TMZ that the position may correspond to the signs of a heart attack.

Authorities are also investigating Saget’s revelation on the Corporate Time with Tom and Dan podcast a few days before his death that he was battling COVID-19, which in some cases can cause blood clots, the news outlet reported.

“This is not good, this is not good,” he said on the show. “I don’t know if I had Delta or … maybe I had a combination. Maybe sometime they [Delta and Omicron] worked together. “

The Bureau of Forensic Medicine said the investigation into his death “could take up to 10-12 weeks.”
