While the British royal family was the first to arrive at Westminster Abbey for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden followed them. The two were among the first world leaders to attend the late Queen’s funeral with her family, paying their respects to her.
With over 2,000 royals, world leaders and hundreds of members, it’s getting a little unsettled in Westminster Abbey, not to mention the thousands of mourners camped outside. People began to gather in it at 8 am in the church where Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip and her coronation took place. Many world leaders such as Nadham Zahavi, Ben Wallace, and the Bidens arrived fairly quickly, with the Bidens arriving in their explosion-proof limousine called “The Beast.” See photos below:
The couple stay low all over, silently entering as they take their seats to mourn the longest reigning monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II has been a global icon for 70 years. Having ascended the throne at the age of 25, the long-reigning empress approached her historical role with poise and calm confidence. But behind the façade of the monarchy, Queen Elizabeth was the head of the family and household in good times and bad. New biography of Robert Hardman, Queen of our time, takes longtime royal fans behind a veil of unprecedented access to royal records, friends, staff and more as the legendary leader and the House of Windsor celebrate their momentous reign. This will no doubt be known as the definitive book about Queen Elizabeth II. Pre-order before release in early 2023.
