Joe Biden With Royal Family, World Leaders –

King Charles, members of the royal family and hundreds of world leaders, politicians and other public figures attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey this morning.

With Prince William, now Prince of Wales, and his wife Catherine in the front row were their two eldest children, George and Charlotte.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat behind King Charles and his Queen Consort Camilla.

The Abbey was full of familiar faces from around the world. French President Emmanuel Macron arrived early, US President Joe Biden and Brazilian Prime Minister Jair Bolsonaro were also among the mourners.

After an introductory hymn – ‘The day you gave, the Lord is finished’ – Baroness Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, read the first service from Corinthians.

New British Prime Minister Liz Truss – received by the Queen in her last duty just two days before her death – read from the New Testament before everyone joined in another hymn – ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd.’ ‘

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the country’s most senior figure in the Church of England, then delivered a sermon in which he paid tribute to the Queen’s lifetime vows, which he said she had fulfilled.

Church leaders took turns leading the congregation in prayer, before all joined in the hymn – ‘Love the Divine, all love the best.’ The Archbishop of Canterbury led those in the Abbey in eulogizing the late monarch, before offering the final blessing.

Finally, in possibly the most moving moment, two minutes of silence followed, observed by the crowd inside the Abbey, outside Britain and throughout. The crowd broke the silence and started singing ‘God Save the King’.

Then it was over, as the Queen’s coffin was carried out of the Abbey and on the very last leg of its journey, across London and to St George’s Chapel, Windsor, between her vows and her ancestors. To lie down.
