John Oliver is censored after the death of Queen Elizabeth II

It didn’t take long for John Oliver to take aim at Queen Elizabeth II and her demise during his “Last week tonightan opening segment where the host began ranting just a minute into the broadcast. Sky edited this part of the show in full, according to Term as well as rolling stone.

“Obviously we have to start with the UK, which is clearly still reeling from the shocking death of a 96-year-old woman from natural causes,” Oliver joked. “This is a big moment this week and for some reason absolutely everyone felt they had to get involved. [it] by Crazy Frog who tweeted “RIP the Queen” [and a] emoji with a candle… at Dominos UK, who wrote: “Everyone at Domino’s joins the nation and the world in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family.” Although the nighttime host did not directly offend the queen, he did make a few quips about the political and social decisions taking place across the ocean lately, and also mentioned Her Majesty.

“Unfortunately, the death of the Queen is not the only traumatic event that Britain has had to deal with this week, because on Tuesday Liz Truss, or rather Margaret Thatcher, if she was under adhesive rubber, became its new prime minister,” Oliver said. “The nicest thing the Queen of England has ever done for anyone is death in the week that this woman became Prime Minister. [her political comments].”

The Sky network declined to comment on the edits requested by Deadline, which outraged some British viewers.
