The portrait, painted by award-winning artist Jamie Koret, made its debut at the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge. William and Kate took to their official Twitter account to share a snapshot of museum goers looking at the stunning portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looking very stoic and regal. “Glad to see this new portrait featured on [Fitzwilliam Museum] in Cambridge today,” the couple tweeted.

The painting was originally commissioned in 2021 and given as a gift on Cambridgeshire County Day in 2022. The presentation of the portrait comes at a time of transition for members of the House of Windsor, as Kate and William prepare to usher in a new era of modern monarchy. The couple have already taken on a lot of responsibility over the past few years, and this portrait offers a look at the young couple, now in their 40s, with a determined look to the future.

What’s more, the portrait also shows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as a united front that they have maintained through some difficult years. We are sure that this is only the first of many joint portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. And now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re booking tickets to see the portrait in person!
