Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her comedian boyfriend Pete Davidson have been spotted in Far North Queensland as worried locals can’t believe their eyes.
The couple were spotted dining at a café in Cairns on Wednesday as the couple temporarily moved to the region while Davidson, 28, was preparing to film the months-long comedy The Wizards!
“They sent in their security team, they looked at the menu for a bit and then asked if we had room for a couple of private guests who were hoping to take over the inside,” said Botanica Café & Bar Kitchen Manager Matt Black. ABC.
“Of course, damn Kimmy Kay and Pete Davidson came,” he said.
Mr Black admitted his barista didn’t know who the celebrity couple were but called them “super cool and respectful.”
“We had to put our phones on the counter,” he said.
Later that evening, Davidson was seen back in the time zone in Cairns, just days after the couple posted photos on Instagram on what is reportedly the area’s exclusive island.
According to the ABC, “Bedarra Island has not confirmed whether dignitaries have stayed there.”
Timezone according to Cairns PostDavidson “mingled with other attendees who took the chance to pose with the comedian, but the staff basically left him alone.”
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Davidson’s co-star, were seen arriving at Sydney Airport on Wednesday morning, where they were surrounded by airport staff and security personnel as they walked incognito wearing caps and masks.
Bloom, 45, was pictured with the couple’s one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom he hid from waiting paparazzi with a baby blanket. Perry, 37, followed her fiancé, and 11-year-old son Bloom Flynn, whom he shares with ex Miranda Kerr, also joined the couple.
The film, written by David Michaux, follows the comical exploits of two hapless beach bar owners, played by Davidson and Franz Rogowski, who get into trouble when they stumble upon stolen loot.
This is expected to add about $14.7 million to the state’s economy and create about 100 Queensland cast and crew jobs, as well as almost 300 additional jobs.
Davidson and Kardashian, 41, began dating after the reality TV sensation slipped with ex-husband Kanye West.
The couple met when the mother-of-four made her debut on Saturday Night Live! in October last year.
During the show, the couple made headlines after they shared a kiss during a skit.
Screen Queensland CEO Kylie Mannich Says She’s Saving Wizards! showed that international producers knew there were many benefits to filming in Queensland.
“Queensland is a world-famous center for screen manufacturing. Screen Queensland consistently offers our staff locations, studios, skilled workforce and valuable incentives,” she said.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Queensland’s scenic spots and local film industry attracted another big-budget production that could be spent in the state.
The announcement comes just weeks before the global releases of Baz Luhrmann’s Austin Butler-starring Elvis and Chris Hemsworth-starring Netflix’s Spider Head, which were filmed on the Gold Coast.
