Lorne Michaels talks cast changes, reveals at least 4 new stars – KristenBellTattoos.com

Lorne Michaels is in the process of adding extras for season 48 of the series. Saturday night life.

Winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Art, Michaels turned to “a year of change” on the long-running NBC series.

He said there will be at least four new additions to the cast.

To the best of KristenBellTattoos.com’s knowledge, Michaels is in the process of negotiating and the deals are expected to close over the next few days.

“This will be a transitional year. Years of change are always difficult, but always interesting. There are new people. At least for now there are four new people,” he said backstage at the event.

This comes after KristenBellTattoos.com announced in May that Kate McKinnon, Adie Bryant and Kyle Mooney were leaving the show at the end of season 47 along with Pete Davidson. It was later revealed that Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor and Aristotle Atari would also not be returning.

SNL returns on October 1 with three shows in a row.

Michaels added that the pandemic has held the large roster together for longer than perhaps expected.

“The pandemic, as it were, interfered with the national order of things. I think there was a connection, people got very close. When we did these home shows, you had to see everyone’s apartment, where and how they lived. There was closeness and connection between the audience and the band. I couldn’t imagine that we would be able to work without this whole team, so we continued to work,” he added.
