Sean, 43, has been caught in a downward spiral over the past few years as his drug abuse hit record highs, leading to a string of arrests.

The child star played Greg Goldberg in the 1992 Disney film, and has also had a recurring role in the NBC drama Freaks and Geeks.

In 2017, the addict was sentenced to 150 days in prison for petty theft, but only served 12 days until he was released.

Just five days later, he was arrested again for possession of methamphetamine in Burbank, California.

After serving 90 days, Sean was jailed just a year later in August 2018 for public drunkenness, forcing him to undergo post-sentencing rehabilitation.

Around the same time, the ex-actor shared on Facebook that, in his opinion, his life fell “below the bottom”, and that without help, his “life was in imminent danger.”

His last arrest took place in January 2020, when he was caught burglarizing his home while under the influence of methamphetamine.

Sean broke into a man’s garage in Van Nuys, California, and smashed his car’s windshield at 7 a.m., according to Marysville Police Department reports.

“The officers noticed broken glass on the ground and noticed that the passenger window in the car was broken,” the report said.

This was the final straw for the Disney Channel actor, who took up residence in rehab in March 2020.

Since the onset of the Covid pandemic, Sean has been living in a sober house in California.

The heavyweight star received widespread support from his close friend Drew Gallagher, who helped care for the suffering addict throughout his journey to sobriety.

Drew explained his friend’s condition PEOPLEsaying, “There is no perfect Sean Weiss here, he is definitely to blame for a lot of the stupid things he does.”

But he explained, “If you spent any time with him, you would have a much more compassionate understanding of who he was.

“He is ill, he is mentally ill. He’s just sick and everyone is giving up on him. “

Drew told TMZ that a friend of his had postponed last year’s Christmas celebrations so he could open the sobriety anniversary gifts.

After undergoing major rehab, Drew began GoFundMe Campaign for Sean, raising over $ 13,000 to restore methamphetamine-inflicted teeth.

Following veneer surgery in August 2020, the celebrity shared a photo of his new smile, radically different from his imprisonment nine months earlier.

Sean’s dentist Dr. Gabe Rosenthal reportedly volunteered to help Sean pay for his new teeth, as the procedure cost between $ 50,000 and $ 100,000.

“His smile definitely gave him a boost. He definitely felt good on his own, but without that smile he was kind of depressed, ”the doctor said after the operation.

“Now he’s starting to appear again.”
