AWARDS ceremonies used to be a mandatory ticket.
Star guests could spend hours doing makeup and combing their hair, perfecting themselves or trying to look as attractive as possible.
But unfortunately, the Billboard Music Awards hosted by rapper P Diddy was the latest event to fall victim to the no-show.
Olivia Rodrigo and Kanye West cleaned up at an event in Las Vegas yesterday, although unfortunately they weren’t there.
While Olivia is touring North America with her Sour tour, Kanye seems to have other plans.
Thanks to her 2021 album that gave her live performances its name, Olivia won seven awards in the evening, including Top New Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.

Kanye, who has a top-selling line of sneakers called Yeezy, has won the Best Christian Artist award for the third year in a row, as well as the Best Gospel and Best Gospel.
His No. 1 album Donda also placed him on the Top Gospel Albums list for the second time.
Sir Elton John received his first dance track award in his fifty-year career with the mega-hit Cold Heart, which was voted Best Dance/Electronic Song.
Elton wasn’t there either, but in his acceptance speech, he praised co-creator Dua Lipa and hinted that he might throw in more club hooligans.
He said, “I’m delighted. Maybe one more!
Gong was also Dua’s first Billboard award and guess what, she wasn’t there either as she is on her Future Nostalgia Tour.
Good thing Cara Delevingne and Megan Fox showed up, and Megan T Stallion, Dodge Cat and Kylie Jenner were on hand to provide a much-needed shot in weird and wonderful outfits.
Doja chose a black dress so low it showed her sparkling nipples.
But that wasn’t the most unusual part of her outfit.
The four-award-winning rapper Kiss Me More wore quirky golden toe-like shoes with painted toes.
Meghan had a theory that less is more for her stage costume.
She performed her revealing collaboration with Dua “The Sweetest Pie” in a bodysuit that was so slashed that it looked like an Ann Summers ad.
Dressed in a quirky tuxedo, music legend Janet Jackson made a surprise appearance to honor Mary J. Blige with the Icon Award tonight.
Mary said: “The icon for me means overcoming obstacles to do the unthinkable.
“I have been on this journey for a long time. One that was full of heartache and pain.
“But God helped me channel those experiences and emotions into my music.”

AGAINST SAM’S COOPERATION
FORMER Eurovision champion Conchita Wurst is looking forward to working with our British hero Sam Ryder after his incredible second place finish on Saturday.
Conchita, who won with Rise Like A Phoenix for Austria in 2014, teamed up with Sam ahead of the contest to perform a cover, and now he wants a full collaboration.
Conchita told Bizarre about the possibility of them working together: “Are you kidding?
“Have you heard us sing Celine Dion? Yes!”
He added at the booking.com music retreat in the host city of Turin, Italy: “I would not dare to give Sam Ryder any advice.

“He is so good, he is so talented.
“He has the most famous fan base – Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber… wow.”
