Pluto TV Launches ’60 Minutes’ Channel Featuring 400 Segments From News Show’s Decades-Long Run –

As 60 minutes Kicking off its 55th season on CBS, corporate sibling Pluto TV is launching a curated channel dedicated to the program.

Since Pluto is a free, ad-supported streaming service outside of the pay-TV bundle, don’t expect the latest first-run episodes on the new channel. Instead, it will feature an exclusive collection of over 400 episodes drawn from the archives.

Bill Owens, executive producer of 60 minutes, hinted to staff last June that an extension of the Pluto brand was in the works. While the move follows several others involving various CBS properties in seeking additional visibility among Pluto’s nearly 70 million monthly active users, it is a rare experiment for it. 60 minutes. At launch, Pluto Channel’s offerings will range from 2008 through 2019, with excerpts from additional seasons to be added to the lineup over time. Early episodes will include the first interview with a retired Navy SEAL who was part of the team that raided Osama bin Laden’s compound. a range of reports focusing on wildlife; and the first interview with President-elect Trump since his election and a meeting with President-elect Obama.
