The Platinum Jubilee was the site of several important moments for members of the royal family. This event not only marked the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, but also served as a backdrop for the reunion of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with the royal family. After the couple’s first public appearance with members of the royal family at the National Thanksgiving Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, Harry and Meghan reportedly met Prince Charles again during a secret meeting.

According to a report from GOOD! Through The Daily Express, Harry and Meghan joined Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at Clarence House after a church service. While attending the National Thanksgiving Service, the tension between the Sussexes and other members of the royal family was definitely palpable. The couple sat across from Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Charles, and neither side seemed particularly inclined to acknowledge each other.

After the church service, Harry and Meghan decided not to attend the Guildhall reception. However, they were reportedly seen leaving Clarence House after the morning festivities, with Camilla and Charles leaving their home shortly after the reunion was reported.

There is nothing surprising in the fact that Prince Charles and his son took some time to reunite. We know that father and son share a special bond, as evidenced by the portrait that Charles has kept at Clarence House since Harry and Meghan’s wedding. While we may never know what went on behind closed doors in Charles and Camilla’s home, we can only hope that the meeting served as an opportunity for Charles and Harry to mend their rift.
