RHOC’s Noella Bergener SOBS as her husband “turned off his credit cards” after serving divorce papers amid his $6 million tax debt.
On tonight’s episode of The Bravo Show, the reality star was shocked as she learned about her husband, James Bergner’s sizable tax debt, before serving up divorce documents.
RHOC newbie FaceTime told her costar and friend, Shannon Beador, emotionally distressed and cried as she explained the difficult situation.
“Someone had come to serve papers, divorce papers. He has lived in Puerto Rico. And it’s all in Spanish,” cried Noella.
A stunned Shannon only “What?” could ask. As he held his chest.
Noella continued: “His wardrobe is here, his stuff is here… His car is here. His life is here. He closed the credit cards.
“I’m lost. I’m totally lost, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to think. It’s a nightmare. Just a really, really nightmare. I’m trying Am, you know, to talk to a lawyer and just what happens next.”
Upon learning of her “secret” tax debts, the brunette beauty began to cry when she explained: “She made an error and needs to rectify it.
“But I never thought it would be the end of a marriage. You know, I never thought it would mean that I’m a single mom with my son.
“All I want is for my husband to come and tell me what’s going on? Like my son was diagnosed with autism in May. My mom was admitted to the hospital in June.”
Noella’s husband currently has $5.8 million in tax debt as of 2018.
Basically, Noella claimed she knew “nothing” about his financial woes and—when she told him—she was under the impression it was a tax lien for $4 million.
However, a second lien added another $2 million to his hefty debt limit — leaving the IRS owed nearly $6 million.
Last month, The Sun exclusively revealed that Noella is seeking legal and physical custody of her two-year-old son, James Jr., amid their tumultuous divorce.
In court documents obtained exclusively by The Sun, Noella said she wants James to support the spouses as well as pay her attorney’s fees.

The court ultimately determines any child support that will be awarded.
In the new petition, Noella stated that she does not know the exact amount of her assets and debts and reserves the right to update that information at a later date.
The couple were married in June of 2020, and James first filed for divorce from his wife in Puerto Rico in August, as TMZ reported.
Sources told the outlet that the RHOC star was “blinded” by the filing, adding that James does not currently live in the Orange County home they share together.
The division seems mutual, as radar online Reportedly, Noella also filed for legal separation on August 2.
In filing for legal separation, Noella was not filing for her marriage to end, although this new petition for marital dissolution would eventually occur.
James has yet to respond to any of Noella’s pleas.
Noella’s estranged husband first filed for divorce after he was accused of paying back tax of nearly $6 million.
He is a well-known lawyer in Southern California, while many locals will recognize him by his billboards and advertisements that have been put up throughout the area.
According to radar online, “The IRS and the State of California file suit against Noella’s husband, who runs a successful law firm called Sweet Gems.”
James is accused of “refusing to pay $1,878,438 for 2018 and $2,166,680 for 2019.”
