Gosling’s Ghost Rider fan art is by artist Arfinity, who has amassed thousands of followers with his incredible superhero-themed fan art. Gosling’s look lends to that of the actor from Netflix’s The Gray Man, adding classic shoulder spikes from Johnny Blaze’s iconic Ghost Rider.
It’s been a while since Ghost Rider was on the big screen, and Demon Biker fans are ready for his MCU debut. Nicolas Cage played this character in two far from perfect films: Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Cage then ruled out his involvement in a potential third film (via Collider), but since the project never came to fruition, the film rights switched from Sony back to Marvel. Another version of the character, Robbie Reyes, featured prominently in Agents of SHIELD season 4. Gabriel Luna played the new Ghost Rider who drove a Dodge Charger instead of a motorcycle. Luna’s character was supposed to be a spin-off on Hulu, but the project was ultimately scrapped (via Term). Marvel Studios is now in full control of Ghost Rider, but has yet to reveal a new project.
Gosling isn’t the only actor to have expressed interest in Ghost Rider, and he’s certainly not the only actor fans have envisioned for the part. The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus spoke about this. Comicbook.com that he wants to play the character. “I want to play Ghost Rider. I want a fire skull. I want my face to turn into a fiery skull and whip with a chain. That would be great,” Reedus said. Keanu Reeves is another actor that fans would love to see as Ghost Rider, although this is just a popular fancast and the actor hasn’t shown any direct interest.
