Sarah David and Kathy McGee Elected Vice Presidents –

Sarah David, who ran unopposed, was elected vice president of WGA East representing online media representatives, while Cathy McGee beat out two other candidates to become vice president representing members working in the broadcast news, cable TV and streaming sectors.

David, digital editor at Paramount +/Viacom CBS for unscripted series, currently sits on the WGA East Council, the guild’s governing body. McGee, a news writer for WCBS in New York, has served on the Guild Council and on its Inclusion and Equity Committee.

This is the guild’s first election since its members voted overwhelmingly in June to amend the WGAE constitution and restructure the guild to provide more “balanced representation” across its three business sectors: film/television/streaming, broadcasting/cable. / streaming news and online media. Guild president, secretary-treasurer and vice-president representing the film/television/streaming sector will be elected next year.

In the only other contested race, six members, all incumbents, were re-elected to serve on the Board representing the film/television/streaming sector: Erika Saleh, AM Homes, Monica Lee Belle, Gina Gionfriddo, Tian Jun Gu and Caitlyn. Fontana.

Two other unopposed candidates representing the online media sector were also elected to the Council. This is Susan Rinkunas and Jessica Schulberg.

The Council currently consists of 20 Council members: 12 Film/Television/Streaming Council members, five Online Media Council members, and three Broadcasting/Cable/Streaming Council members, as well as five officers: President, Secretary- treasurer and three vice presidents. one from each working sector.

Coming to the end of their two-year term are President Michael Winship, Secretary-Treasurer Christopher Kyle and Lisa Takeuchi Cullen as Vice President, who now represent the film/television/streaming sector.
