More than mom. Nika King playing mother Zendaya as well as Storm Reedcharacters on Euphoriaand she said it was a learning experience.

“Performing with Zendaya and Storm Reid is like a master class,” King said. Us weekly Saturday, September 10 at eBay and the GBK Brand Bar Luxury Award Lounge at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

Zendaya, 26, plays Ryu, a teenage drug addict, while Reed, 19, plays younger sister Gia, who is traumatized after her sister’s overdose. Leslie is just trying to keep her daughters safe in the HBO drama, which has been nominated for 16 Emmys this year.

“They’re young and showing their best game and I’m like, ‘Good!’ I’m older – a little, a little older – but every day on set is another day to be amazing, to be great,” King explained.

The Miami native said that young actresses are always on her side. “The connection is always there and it’s like, ‘Let’s get this out of the park so people know, for example, that the addiction that young people go through is a real problem,’” King continued. “We want to make sure we capture it all – the good, the bad and the ugly.”

However, she doesn’t quite look like their mother. “[Our bond is] more sisterly, because I will try to be young, and they will say: “Girl, sit down, old one.” I want to do some TikTok, I want to pass all the tests,” she told us. “I want to stay trendy and keep my cool, and it’s always a great time – every time we meet off the set.”

Funny family things The alum admitted that she was “a little nervous in front of the Emmys.” Euphoria was nominated for Best Drama on Monday, September 12th at the awards show, and King wanted to make sure she looked good when she was on stage at the Mircosoft Theater with her stylish co-stars. (succession ultimately won the category.)

“I’m always a little hesitant, like, ‘Oh my God, what should I wear? I need to look amazing!” You know, Zendaya is going to kill. Stormy is going Hunter [Schaefer]like, everyone will show their best game,” she said. “I’m always fascinated by their beauty and poise on the red carpet, so I’m always looking for inspiration. And so this year will be an amazing time to be on the sidelines.”

Zendaya really stole the show that aired on NBC with her old Hollywood glamor and black Valentino ball gown. She shone on the red carpet and stage, where she received the second best actress in the drama “Emmy”.

“Thank you for creating such a safe space for this very difficult show,” Zendaya said during her acceptance speech after thanking her fellow cast members.

“And finally, I just want to say that my greatest desire Euphoria is that it can help heal people,” she continued. “And I just want to say thank you to everyone who shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved Ryu or feels like Ryu I want you to know that I am so grateful for your stories and I carry them with me and I carry them with her so great thank you very much.”
