TelevisaUnivision appoints Ignacio Meyer as President of US Networks –

TelevisaUnivision has promoted veteran Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer to President of US Networks.

The Miami-based chief executive will report to CEO Wade Davis. His promotion is aimed at helping the company strengthen its executive team following the departure of Louis Silberwasser last spring. The chief executive stepped down as president of the TelevisaUnision television network group to become CEO of Warner Bros Discovery Sports.

The TelevisaUnivision brand exists only after the closing of a $4.8 merger between Univision and the entertainment arm of Mexico’s Grupo Televisa a few months ago. Davis, a former Viacom executive, led a consortium of private investors who won bids for Univision prior to its merger with Televisa.

Over ten years at TelevisaUnivision and UnivisionMeyer has held various leadership positions. Most recently, he ran the unscripted music and entertainment department. Previously, he led the strategic business efforts of the music department, music publishing, sound design and artist development group in the US. He also led the talent commercialization and licensing divisions, as well as the music and sound design team for networks and the studio. “I’m excited and energized for what’s to come under Nacho’s leadership and direction,” Davis said in a press release. “Throughout his career at Nacho, he helped build Univision as a key partner of the entertainment and Latin music ecosystem, excellent audience service, creating business opportunities, bringing today’s best productions to life, with the biggest artists and future rising stars at record-breaking network television venues, adrenaline-fueled events. and fast-growing digital platforms.” Meyer said he looks forward to “continuing our commitment to inform, empower and entertain our audiences.”
