What mess could make the kids of the 80s and 90s completely lose their ever-loving mind? How about the sewer-dwelling ninja turtles meet the quirky and fearless ghost-fighting quartet that is the Ghostbusters? IDW made this alliance possible in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters limited series. In four issues, TMNT and the Ghostbusters team up to fight the nefarious forces.
Of course, one might wonder how the two character groups haven’t crossed paths before, since they’re both based in New York City. Well, they are completely different properties after all, and they don’t technically live in the same universe. The story of the comic miniseries involves a rift between universes as the TMNT travel to an alternate version of New York City, home to the fearless Ghostbusters we all know and love from the 1984 classic.
After being sent to an alternate dimension by mistake, the TMNT must team up with the Ghostbusters to take on an ancient Chinese deity known as Chi-Yu. As the evil being attempts to raise an army, the heroes must find a way to stop Chi-Yu from destroying New York. It’s an exciting ride that fans of both franchises can enjoy.
