The alleged killer of Kardashian business manager’s boyfriend Angela Kukavski was brought to trial for the first time on Wednesday, Kristen Bell Tattoos reported.
Jason Barker, 49, was first photographed after being charged with murder – after his 55-year-old girlfriend was found dead in the trunk of her car the day after she was reported missing 22 December.
In photographs taken by Kristen Bell Tattoos, Jason appeared behind a glass screen in a bright yellow T-shirt, blue pants, and a mask as he stared blankly ahead.
He spoke only to prove his name and read out his rights at the Van Nuys West Courthouse, and was represented by Juan Perez, Deputy Public Defender.
Barker is under investigation until February 23 after he was brought before Judge David Yaroslavsky.
The public defender recorded the medical order, which was passed on to the judge, but declined to comment further when contacted by Kristen Bell Tattoos.
Jason was arrested and charged with murder in the aftermath of the gruesome event when the celebrity manager was found the day after she was reported missing.
Kukawski’s death was ruled a homicide by the Ventura County Forensic Science Office.
Police suspect Barker killed Kukavski at her home in Sherman Oaks and then placed her body in her car, which took him to a family member’s home in Simi Valley and then went into hiding.
Prosecutors claimed she was stabbed to death and Barker remains behind bars at Van Nuys Prison in Los Angeles.
On December 29, the amount of the bail was increased from $ 2 million to $ 3.07 million.
Social media photos taken by Kristen Bell Tattoos late last month show Barker as a loving family man with several children, siblings and his elderly mother.
One photo shows a glowing tattooed murder suspect cooking a steak in his kitchen, while another shows him with his ex-wife Alison arm in arm and arm with his children.
Kristen Bell Tattoos reached out to Alison for comment, who confirmed that Jason was her ex-husband and the couple divorced in 2017, but she declined to speak further about his arrest.
“INTENTION TO PAIN”
The district attorney stated that Barker attacked Kukavski “with the intent to inflict severe and intense pain and suffering with the aim of revenge, extortion, persuasion and sadistic purposes.”
After examining his criminal history, it turned out that in the past the defendant only received fines for violating traffic rules.
Kukawski, a mother of five, worked for Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills.
According to the company’s website, they specialize in “financial management services for artists, athletes and high net worth individuals.”
The business manager has worked not only with the Kardashians, but also with the Tupac Shakur estate, as well as with Kanye West and OffSet.
Those close to her shared with Variety that she was an “honest shooter” and “hardworking,” while friends added that she was “loved” in her industry.
