Oscar winner Florian ZellerFather), a fresh drama from the Venice Film Festival Sonlaunches production firm Blue Morning Pictures with support from European studio Mediawan (call my agent).
Zeller will oversee the Paris and Los Angeles-based company along with former CAA agent Federica St. Rose. As part of the deal, Mediawan will finance and produce a number of film and television projects with Blue Morning Pictures.
After a career as a playwright, Zeller adapted and directed his first film. Father, based on his play of the same name starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. The film received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and Zeller was one of the winners for Best Adapted Screenplay.
St. Rose previously worked as an agent for CAA’s media finance department, where she packaged and sold films, including films by Christos Nicu. Father and its continuation Sonstarring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern and Vanessa Kirby, which premiered in Venice earlier this week.
