EXCLUSIVE: TikTok has partnered with MACRO and UnbeliEVAble Entertainment to announce 10 Latinx Creatives Grant recipients.
Among them are Miguel Dalmau, Giovanna Gonzalez, Herchell Carrasco, Gabriel Serberville, Jonathan Perez, Ileana Cabrera, Jorge Alvarez, Dr. Leslie Gonzalez, José Luis Cisneros-Carlos and Francisco Cardozo.
The grant was created following the success of the 2021 TikTok Latinx Creatives creator incubator last year, in which 150 creators and emerging music artists learned how to take their content on the platform to the next level. It will serve to further support creators both on and off the platform, financially, as well as through educational programs and networking opportunities.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to these Latin American creators and artists who are driving culture and are at the forefront of creating trends on the TikTok platform,” said Isabelle Quinteros, director of artist partnerships at TikTok. “MACRO and UnbeliEVAble are industry leaders when it comes to protecting diverse creatives in media, and we greatly appreciate their partnership as we support these creators in realizing their dream projects.”
Each selected grant recipient was selected after TikTok, MACRO and UnbeliEVAble Entertainment submitted their dream creative project idea, whether it be a book, film, TV show, radio show or other content medium. They will each receive $50,000 and two individual coaching sessions from MACRO and UnbeliEVAble Entertainment to help bring their ideas to life.
“MACRO is very proud to be part of this program for the second year in a row and to partner with TikTok and our colleagues at UnbeliEVAble to find and support incredible creators on the platform. I continue to be amazed at the sheer talent and vision of these artists – there is no limit to all of them,” said Stacey Walker King, Brand Director of MACRO.
“At UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, our mission is to actively select targeted projects that accurately reflect the stories of the Hispanic community. As part of this, we are always looking for new, fresh artists in our community. We cannot properly tell these stories without our own voice, and I am very proud to continue this partnership with TikTok and MACRO. Together, we can use our strengths and resources to develop and support the next generation of storytellers and innovators in our industry,” said Eva Longoria, actress, producer, activist, entrepreneur, and CEO of UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.
