Travis Barker’s new CBD skincare line faces backlash from fans

Oh oh! Travis Barker announced that it would expand its Barker Wellness Co. brand. line of skin care products, but that doesn’t mean fans are taking it well.

“It’s vegan. This is good. Rub it all over your body. #barkerwellness” — Barker, 46 captioned photo on instagram himself with a new line of products in his mouth on Tuesday, September 20th.

While the brand that originally sold bath bombs and CBD gummies is now available on sites like Revolve and the official Barker Welness Co. page, fans of the Blink-182 drummer have taken to social media to express their doubts when buying products.

“A bit embarrassed by the famous #TravisBarker skincare line (and the products are expensive 💸) #celebrityskincare #skincarebrand” cosmetic brand Estée Laundry wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, citing five products available that range from a $95 two-in-one face mask and cleanser to a $140 anti-aging balm.

“$130 for eye serum I’m screaming,” wrote one fan in the comments section. “95 dollars for detergent?! literally flush down the drain?! 😂😂😂,” joked another.

Others, however, focused on how the skincare choice didn’t feel like a genuine rock star brand.

“He could have done something much more authentic with it!” one social media user said. “Individual temporary tattoos, hand cream/ointment for dry hands, suitable for drummers. There are so many!”

Despite the backlash, Barker has long been open about his love for cannabidiol. In February 2019, during an episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, he revealed that CBD even helped him sober up.

“I am one of those people whose mind is constantly jumping. I get home from the studio at 1 or 2 am and just think about how much sleep I need before I can wake my kids up to go to school. And I just sit with the wheels spinning if I’m not using CBD,” he shared.

Skeptics were also quick to claim that the California native has been Kardashianized since he tied the knot with his wife. Kourtney Kardashian in May.

“He didn’t want a wife, but just a legal mother,” one Instagram user joked.

Kardashian, 43, founder of Poosh, recently launched a new line of vitamins and supplements. Sisters Courtney Kim Kardashian as well as Kylie Jenner, for their part, also have signature skin care. Mother Chris Jenner has its own line in the works as well.

Last week, Barker opened up about drawing inspiration from his wife. El“Courtney has constantly taught me that this is the key to skincare and now I’m seeing results,” adding that he wanted his own line to be “simple for everyone to follow.”
