Video of high school boys wearing crop tops to protest sexist school dress code is going viral

A group of boys at College Heights Secondary School in British Columbia have recently gone viral for organizing a crop top protest. Initially posted on TikTok by one of the students named Mason Boudreau, 17, the video garnered over two million views and a lot of support.

“Girls in my high school were dress coded for stupid reasons like just wearing ripped jeans or too high a rip or leggings,” he said, So he gathered a group of boys and showed up to school in crop tops or other “scandalous clothes.” They wanted to find out whether the headmaster of the school would punish them like the girls.

And surprise, surprise! “There were probably about 15 of us … and none of us were sent home,” Mason told the press. Speaking of double standards, it turns out that sexism in school is far more systematic than sexist dress code rules.

Another TikToker, Solvej Wren has re-shared the original video of boys protesting in crop tops praising their initiative.

She said that moms are really proud of them for challenging the world which is often unfair and hostile to girls.

Many appreciated the boys and said that they give hope to all of us in our society.

Others have told how proud they are of Gen Z, a generation that often becomes the target of harsh criticism

Another person said that even though she doesn’t see crop tops as an appropriate dressing option for school, she is still proud of the boys.
