Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova will be the first at the premiere of The Thunderbolts. Pugh has two MCU projects under her belt at the moment, and it looks like she’ll be taking center stage in the Phase 5 movie. She is joined by a US agent (Wyatt Russell) from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This character had a pretty serious storyline in the Disney+ series and we expect to see some redemption for him in The Thunderbolts. His FaWS co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus will also return as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. There are speculations that she could lead the team, but no plot details have been released. Sebastian Stan will also play his favorite role as Bucky Barnes in the film.
Also in The Thunderbolts was David Harbor, who again played the Red Guardian. But he and Elena won’t be the only Black Widow stars in the new movie. Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) is also joining the new team, hoping to redeem the character that fans were rather disappointed in the Scarlett Jonasson movie. Additionally, The Thunderbolts will feature Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), who played the villain of sorts in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Notably missing from this list is Baron Zemo, played by the great Daniel Brühl from Captain America: Civil War and FaWS. Zemo is closely associated with the Thunderbolts in the comics and we didn’t expect him to be gone. We hope that his casting will be confirmed later.
