We’ve Got Addams Adult Wednesday to Thank Madisinn King of She-Hulk

In 2013, writer and performer Melissa Hunter began her YouTube web series “Adult Wednesday Addams”, a parody series that follows, as the name suggests, an adult version of a familiar character. Hunter, for her part, created and starred in a production that, by most reviews, was incredibly well received by anyone who did not have an active copyright on the source material. Although the series itself was not allowed to live, Hunter’s career remained. Like her IMDb The page states that she has written screenplays for projects such as The Santa Clarita Diet for Netflix, the animated film Close Enough for HBO Max, and, most recently, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

For the latter, only one episode is credited to her, the fourth, titled “Isn’t that real magic?” According to BotanistShe-Hulk Attorney-at-Law showrunner Jessica Gao credited Hunter in full for the role. She said, “Melissa Hunter wrote this script, and she wrote such a funny script and such a funny character.” There’s something ironic about someone perfecting Wednesday Addams’ dry wit to also perfect its antithesis.
