What Dwayne Johnson Really Wants Black Adam to Bring to the DC Universe

The numerous delays that prevented the release of Black Adam did nothing to dampen Dwayne Johnson’s enthusiasm for Black Adam. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, he shared that he was thrilled to be working with director Jaume Colle-Serra again, telling the group, “We have really great chemistry… He’s really humble and very shy.” The host went on to say that he wanted to present his Black Adam character in a unique and compelling way, and he understood both the challenge and the opportunity of integrating the Justice Society of America (as shown in the latest “Black Adam” trailer) into the DCEU.

“If our goal is to open a new era in the DC Universe, what does that mean?” Johnson asked. Much of this answer was given in an interview with Den of geeksspeaking of the new group of characters, “We want to honor their mythology and build their own stories.”

During the Comic-Con panel, Johnson was quick to cite his previous work with Johnson as a motive for including Collet-Serra in Black Adam, saying, “Not only is Jaume very prolific, he’s just the perfect director for this thing.” .”
