Where have you seen the Samaritan cast before?

Veteran Character Actor Henry J. Sanders plays a minor role as Arthur Holloway in The Samaritan. He is familiar with Sylvester Stallone, having worked with him on the 1973 thriller Nowhere to Hide and the 2006 sequel Rocky Balboa. The first was actually Sanders’ professional acting debut, followed by a supporting role in The Black Godfather.

Shortly thereafter, Sanders rose to prominence on television after making small appearances on popular shows from the late 1970s to the present day. His extensive television credits include The Rockford Files, The Jeffersons, Knight Rider, Night Court, Miami Vice, Married with Children, The Young and the Restless, ER. Alf, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, The Mentalist, Grey’s Anatomy, American Horror Story, 9-1-1 and Shameless, just to name a few. In 1993, Sanders finally landed his first regular role in the Jane Seymour-directed western Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, in which he played Robert for over a hundred episodes. Nearly two decades later, he landed the role of Prosper Denton, one of the main characters in Ava DuVernay’s ongoing drama The Sugar Queen. He also recently starred alongside Rosario Dawson in the HBO Max miniseries DMZ.

Sanders’ impressive resume also includes supporting roles in many major films, especially well-known dramas such as Damien Chazelle’s psychological musical drama Whiplash and the historical drama Selma, which was his first project with DuVernay. He is perhaps best known for his leading role in critically acclaimed 1978 independent film The Sheep Killer.
