ACTRESS Jody Prenger has just landed the role of her “dream” in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.
The 43-year-old actor rose to fame after winning the BBC talent show I’d Do Anything in 2008.
Who is Jody Prenger?
Jody Prenger is a 43 year old English actress and singer.
She was born on 12 June 1979 in Blackpool and educated at Elmsley Girls’ School.
She performed extensively in cabarets in Blackpool and on the Fylde coast, where she also worked as an agonizing aunt.
In 1998, Jodie appeared in two different shows each night at two theaters in Blackpool.
Prenger first appeared on television in 1999 when she appeared with her mother on Taste for Travel.
Then in 2000, she took part in Dale Winton’s The Other Half on BBC One, where she had to pretend to be the wife of boxer Chris Eubank.
Later that year, she played the role of the good witch Hurricane in the Halloween Play on Ice at Alton Towers.
In 2001, she spent eight months aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship as one of the four main artists.
What series did she participate in?
In 2013, she competed in Let’s Dance for Comic Relief where she placed second to Anthony Cotton.
In July 2009, Prenger was a guest on ITV’s Loose Women.
Prenger occasionally presented the National Lottery midweek draw on BBC One.
In June 2011, she appeared in an episode of Waterloo Road as Linda Wicks.
She was also a regular on The Alan Titchmarsh Show This Morning as well.
And often fills in for Paul O’Grady and Elaine Page when they are absent from their shows on BBC Radio 2.
In December 2011, she appeared on CBeebies’ channel Justin’s House.
When will she join Coronation Street?
Prenger will play cruise ship Glenda, the sister of Coronation Street undertaker George Shuttleworth, played by Tony Maudsley.
Her character will first appear on the screen in August, right after working on cruise ships, and will quickly find a job at the Rovers bar.
Speaking about joining the ITV series, she said: “I know I sound like sentimental shit, but ever since I was little, being on Coronation Street has been on my wish list.
“This is a great honor, this is a truly special moment in my life. To be a part of what my family and I have loved for so long. And what a character, oh I must say, a complete dream piece.”
Is Jody married and does she have children?
In April 2012, Prenger announced her engagement to Simon Booth.
The news came shortly after her father, Marty, sadly died of kidney cancer.
Calling Hello! magazine at the time, she explained, “I’m so glad dad knew I was being taken care of. Dad loved Simon like a son and always said I would be safe with him. soul like my dad.”
The actress was previously engaged to Steve Greengrass, who proposed to her after the Saturday show on the third week of I’d Do Anything on April 12, 2008.
However, this was not destined to happen, and she broke up with him a few weeks before the show’s finale.
At the moment, Prenger has no children and is not married.
